A Cold Salt Water Hydrotherapy Spa is a self-contained unit; water is maintained at 5 degrees Centigrade to reduce heat and inflammation, excellent for lower limb injuries and conditions, and beneficial for foot problems such as laminitis.
Once inside the unit, a horse simply stands in the cold salt water, the depth of which can be varied according to the position and severity of the injury or condition. The water can be aerated providing a massaging effect, the therapeutic and healing process starts immediately. A horse may require a number of sessions in the spa depending on the nature and extent of their injury or condition, our associate Vet is on hand for the initial hydrotherapy session and helpful advice for the owner.
